This up-and-coming neighborhood continues to grow; amongst old buildings and businesses you’ll find new spots that locals love.
Distance from Downtown: 5 miles/12-min drive
The Vibe: Parents with small children and young singles live here, so you’ll find residential housing, family-friendly local breweries and restaurants, coffee shops where young professionals get work done and bars where they like to hang out when the work day is over.
You can’t go wrong with anything at this cute coffee shop: choose from breakfast sandwiches and tacos, lunch sandwiches and burgers, crepes of all flavors, and of course all the espresso drinks you can imagine.
Creative and classic cocktails, beer and wine, and snacks like nachos and chips & guac is what Otto’s is made of. Enjoy the outdoor patio and happy hour from 4-6 on weekdays.
The Hop Yard is Fat Bottom Brewing’s restaurant and beer garden located in The Nations neighborhood. Not only is there local draft beer available, but they also have cocktails and wine. They have a solid list of food options with items such as wings, tots, sandwiches, chicken mac, and even a burger.
I love the vibe at Harding House Brewing, and the beer is fantastic too. Bring your dog and chill at the picnic tables on their deck, or hang out in the airy, industrial indoor/outdoor space.
