The Vibe: Historic meets new. Germantown dates back to 1786 when mostly German immigrants moved to this part of town; however, you’ll also find new apartment buildings, the massive Nashville Sounds baseball stadium, and award-winning restaurants. There are a number of Black-owned businesses to support in this neighborhood, too: Germantown Pub, Slim & Husky’s, and EG & MC Cocktail Bar.
The Optimist’s new outdoor bar, “Jacqueline” has ample seating, delicious cocktails, and seafood apps for you to enjoy while you soak up the sun.

The Optimist in Germantown is a must-try. From the cocktails, to the service, to the seafood, to the Beignet Hushpuppies served with cane syrup butter… everything here is perfection.
Grab a pint of beer or mimosa as big as your head, chow down on a huge homemade pretzel, or go full German and get a bratwurst. I personally love coming here for brunch.
